Default OMNI IR

Same as the Hotone Omni AC but you can put your own acoustic IR (for example Tonedexter made)

Good thing: 1 Mohm input impedance!!!

9V and XLR out. Could be a perfect companion for the ToneDexter?

What size IR can it handle?

I'm getting one of these next week. I didn't notice an acoustic 'cab' in the list and would be interested in snagging someone's IR. When I did the OMNI AC review I went from the AC into the Orange Acoustic Pre and direct to DAW (for studio work, perhaps that's all I need, although I would be interested to know if the tones improved even more with a good IR).

Cooler would be to use your own IR.

I will write you a pm

The OMNI IR has 1024pts max IR file length.

No better than an axoloti board...

They also have this device, available this week.

Or did I see a list concerning this already?

This was actually spotted on the AGF before the omni IR.

I looked in the ToneDexter manual but couldn't find mention of it - isn't the TD wavemap 2048 pts? (Maybe that is the full slot 22 wavemap?)

My guess is tonedexter is 2048 pts (slot 22 being 8096pts). I never had confirmation but James said the length in milliseconds once... And it was something like that. 1024 pts is not bad sounding, it works well with my TA amulet giving a more direct/dry tone but it is less accurate than 2048 or 8096 pts for sure.

I don't use IR now because I think my DIY pickup does not need it. I would always go analog if I can.

I am not promoting experimenting with pickups against tonedexter. Making a pickup yourself is a real pain... And there is a high probability that my pickup only works well with my Eastman as it was made for it. Making your own IR is easier and making your own IR with tonedexter is even easier.

I think Omni IR can be a nice solution for someone who owns a tonedexter and needs a more compact solution for Live performance. You can capture your IR from Tonedexter and shorten it to 1024 pts with a "fade out". However people should not be mistaken, tonedexter is much more than a IR host when used to perform. it is also a quality preamp with high voltage rails. The Omni IR probably does not feature the same preamp quality.
