Default Fishman Loudbox Mini - Recomendations

Most of what I have already read in other posts about the Fishman Loudbox mini seem positive.

Would anyone else like to comment about this amp.

I am an at home acoustic guitarist who would like to try using a looper, it appears that the mini has an additional input for a looper, can anyone confirm.

I am a complete novice when it comes to amps.

Thanks, Pete

I should have put this post in the acoustic amplification forum, could a mod please move it if required. Sorry my bad

The mini does have two channels, but looper pedals are in line with the guitar in one channel. Plug guitar into looper, plug looper into amp. Most people sing thru the second XLR channel.

It's the perfect amp for those who want something light with the flexibility to use with or without a mixer and powered speakers if you need more volume.
It has a warm, natural voicing for guitar and is a great vocal amp as well.
I like mine.

I’m very happy with mine. It’s primarily used in nursing home ministry settings & it’s very nice not having to worry about plugging in. Just be aware that the Mini doesn’t use combo jacks: the second channel is XLR only. I use a passive DI when I need to run two instrument inputs.

I had the Mini and now have the Mini Charge. They are essentially the same, but the Charge has a battery.

I like mine quite a lot. Generally, a looper pedal would go on your instrument cable then into the amp, so there's no need for a separate input for it.

As for the amp itself, I love the tone and form factor. It sounds wonderful for both vocals and guitar and is easy to dial in.

I use mine for this same purpose (home playing/looper). It's a fantastic little amp and I'm glad I bought mine. I use it with a Boss RC-3 w/ footswitch, and a TC electronics cinders overdrive pedal and the sound is fantastic for looping and creating little chord progressions to solo over. very very nice.

I'm not much of a live performer, but I'm confident that with my setup I could easily play a small venue or open mic or whatever successfully. sound is clean and versatile.

so, yeah.. great amp for what you're looking for. good luck

Great little amp with surprising power. I have used this at fairly loud outdoor events and never had it up to its full volume. Always sounds great, and in a tiny package. Of course it has its limits, but those limits are probably beyond what you need for most modest setups.

Default Now purchased

Well, I went ahead and purchased the amp, I got a great deal on eBay. It's early days and I haven't spent a lot of time with it yet, but enough to say, wow!

I love it, it appears to meet all my expectations, the sound is fantastic!

I now join the ranks of those who have said, run don't walk, get the Fishman Loudmouth mini if you need an acoustic amp for home or small venues.

Now, time to research whether I need any pedals

I use to have the old Fishman Loudbox mini.
It sounded supurb on guitar but not too good on vocals. How does the Fishman. Loudbox charge sound. Have they updated the preamps?

I don't know, mine is the mini, I have seen some reviews for the Charge series but do not recall anything being said about the preamps?

I had the Mini and now have the Mini Charge. Although tone is subjective, I find them to be fairly close in that regard. However, I never felt the Mini (or the Mini Charge) was bad at vocals.

Sorry I didn't quite mean it was bad for vocals. I know you can't use condenser mics unless you buy a separate phantom power supply.
I definitely loved the sound of the Fishman Loudbox on guitars. Sounds nice and rich for the size of the amp.

That's true. I use a Shure SM58 and it tends to work fine for vocals.
