Default Open Tuning for Shawn Colvin's Cry Like an Angel? Anyone?

Hi forum, I'm new to all this. Looking for a little help with an open tuning; Shawn Colvin and John Leventhal's Cry Like An Angel. Here's a link:

Thanks to anyone who might provide a little help for a guitar hacker like me

Josh

Hi

Not absolutely certain but sounds like open G to me:
DGDGBD.

Shawn also uses a variation on this by using CGDGBD.

Hope this helps.

She may vary the tuning but from her book the tuning is open G tuning - DGDGBD with capo at the 5th

It is definitely the G tuning, DGDGBD. If you've fooled around with that tuning before that video makes it pretty easy to see the chords and lines she's playing. Good song - and I really like her - but geez she sure does have a lot of very sad songs! Of course, more than one good songwriter has told me that writing a sad song is much easier than writing a happy one! In any case, her signature M-size Martin sure does sound great, doesn't it?

This is the whole song since she has a few slightly different chord structures as she plays through. Hope this makes sense.
