Default 1.5 feet+ of snow here in Ottawa today

Lotza shoveling. Follows a bitter cold snap. Ahhh Canada! Sometimes I'm not sure how I am able to do this year after year...

Any of you guys get caught up in this dump of snow?

A side note: I turned on my humidifier yesterday for the first time this winter. Much later than usual. I suspect it is because I actually have a reliable hygrometer now. Those little digital ones are for the birds.

You're gonna need a snowblower if that keeps up.

We are wintering on Padre Island here in south Texas so my snowblower is resting comfortably in my shed back home.

Be careful up there and stay warm.

Sleeping with the doors open and just a light cotton blanket here down south.

Yep. Also Ottawa (burbs). My trusty snowblower was like a submarine going along the driveway through snow deeper than the front intake.

Our house is tight enough that I never have to humidify. In winter I have to dehumidify with the HRV to keep the RH down around 45% so the windows won't sweat. The guitars stay out year round.
I sometimes have to use a portable dehumidifier in my shop when I'm building, since it's isolated from the main HVAC system.

You're in Ottawa?

Shovel your way over to Lauzon Music and spend the day checking out their stock. They never disappoint...

I’m also in Ottawa. When we lived across the river in Chelsea, Quebec for 37 years, whatever fell in Ottawa saw even more in the Gatineau Hills. For all those years, I cleared our 750’ private road with a blower on my small garden tractor, plus a lot of manual cleanup. Over the past two years in our suburban bungalow, we contract a snow removal service at a reasonable cost to clear the driveway and shovel the walkways. I do a little cleanup, but it’s minimal compared to before. I love it! More time for fun and relaxing things

Yes, Lauzon Music is the best shop in our city.
