Default Magic Martin D15m Burst.

Hello all,

I'm Aaron. I've been reading the forum here for several years now but finally decided to register and join the discussions.

I just purchased my first Martin acoustic. It's a D15m Burst. I was a little apprehensive about buying as I was intending on saving a little more for a used 2012 or later D18. However, once I got it in my hands, the tone of the instrument instantly changed my mind. I have played a lot of Martin's over the years, I worked for Guitar Center for a few years back in the early 2000's. I can say I've never heard a D15 sound like this one. It sounds like a Martin. It does have a little extra warmth as defined by the mahogany top, but it is very well balanced, bright and articulate, with plenty of bass.

My other acoustic guitar is a Larrivee J-05 that I've had since 2000. It too is a cannon and a very high end guitar. However, in comparison to the D15 it seems to be very mid-rangy. The D15 is balanced. Now I'm thinking about selling my J-05 to fund a D18! I haven't been able to put the D15 down since I got it last week. My fingers are sore!

Aaron

Congratulations! I've been really drawn to a 000-15m burst lately. Unfortunately I'm also kinda broke. LOL Enjoy that great guitar!

I have had about a dozen guitars come and go in the last seven years - really nice Gibsons and Martins.

My D15 has been the one constant... Congrats!

Here is mine:

Is that the LR Baggs M1? How do you like it? I'm thinking about that one. She's a beauty!
