Default Blues Test Track - Waterloo > Tonedexter >record

Spent a long time getting an approximation of my Waterloo in the flesh in to a pickup that sounds something like it...

Here is a fingerpicked blues played on my Waterloo WL-14X with K&K pickup run to Tonedexter file and recorded on computer. (for those who don't know, Tonedexter files give 'the sound of your guitar through a studio mic')

Cool - thanks for that. So how close does the Tonedexter actually get it?

Thanks Kego!

How close? That could take 10 pages to answer, but I am very pleased.

Keep in mind there were no mics involved in recording my track. It was the K&K run to a file I made in Tonedexter, which gives the pickup some more ‘air’ like an internal mic.

It is not a mic, but there are so many benefits of the Tonedexter, like EQ, Feedback controls, DI etc.....I would run with it.

Good to know! I have a few decent mics that I would try to train it with, buy I haven't had a chance to mess with one yet.

Very good, no room noise, a slight quack once in a while, but otherwise really nice.

Thanks TBMan!

Yep, I would love to play it louder somewhere, but the infestation has spread and spread the last few weeks and everyone here is in unofficial lockdown....no ruling, but nobody going anywhere..eg, no blues jam night.

I use to have a friend live not too far away in the country - often use to visit, play his or my latest guitars and pickups through his PA system, not the same as a gig I know, but a good indicator! But he and family are keeping a low profile, like most. Oh well, I think the pickup/Tonedexter set will be great - I have used Aura boxes live and I think the Tonedexter gives a more custom experience!
