Smile New Solo-Fingerstyle Original! Cameron Olson - "Letting Go"

Pleast check out my new solo fingerstyle original! Ive put alot of time and heart into my composition and playing, and unfortunately most people barely give acoustic guitar videos a chance because they expect to hear me strumming campfire songs but my style of playing involves complicated harmonics and guitarbody percussion all in alternate tunings. I figured this was the best place to receive feedback from actual musicans on my music.

If you enjoy my music please share with as many other friends/musicians as possible thank you!

I think you are quite talented and I see some real potential here.

The style that you play is particularly unforgiving. It's like shredding -- you have to really master it or else you're bugging/boring the heck out of your audience.

I like your melodies, I like your touch on the guitar.

But for this style of playing, your timing has to be perfect. And since this is an original, your playing has to be perfect, too.

Keep strumming and tapping...

I see a bit of Dufour in you. Nice song and nice playing. A little repetitive for my tastes, but of course, that's just my opinion.

Don Ross and the funky bunch of slapping tappers all have millions of hits on their channels. It's not Britney Spears but there's plenty of room for well executed music of that genre.

Excellent Colson.

Really nice piece. Very complex with lots of great sounds there.
I would not know how to even begin making a guitar do all that.

That guitar sounds almost like a 12 string!

Keep it up; you have a lot of talent.

Looking forward to more!

Interesting original you have created. Lots of talent in your playing. And yes it takes a lot of work, repetition, and dedication. You have what it takes.

Would love to hear more of some melody driven fingerstyle playing.
Thanks, Ed

Thanks so much for the feedback guys! Whether its constructive criticism or a compliment i appreciate it all, like ive said before i wanna do this for a living EVENTUALLY, i realize i still need work with finesse and tempo but ive just barely started to open up my creations to the community, ive only played about 3 open mic/gigs and im still overcoming terrible stagefright lol. And im also attending a musical academy late next year so im planning on chiseling down my technique and writing skills as best i can until i can have the proper musical training since ive been selftaught this whole time, and ive only been playing this style for 2 years out of my 8 years total of guitar. And restassured i will write more songs that are basic fingerstyle more focused on melody than throwing in flashy technique since i do realize it can take away from the music itself, i just wanted my first few compositions to really catch peoples attention.
