Sorry to hear about your best friend. Pets aren't just like one of the family, they are one of the family.

So sorry for your loss. When we lost our girl, just thinking of all the goofy hilarious stuff she did was of great solace.

So sorry.

As mentioned, the best thing is to get a new puppy. Don't think of the puppy as a replacement, but as an addition to the family.

How is your other dog doing? They too can get depressed when another pet is missing.

You son graduating college is very exciting! It's a major accomplishment.

This is heartbreaking. I love my dogs more than most all but a few people.
I need them too.

So sorry for your loss. While the suggestion to go out as soon as possible to get another...mmmm, maybe, maybe not. I lost one of the great loves of my life 10 years ago. Everyone said the same thing - get another. I did, after about a year.

Uh, it did not work out. After six months I had to admit it, and found another home for him. He was beautiful, and as an artist I had to recognize that. A real delight for the eyes; serious eye candy. However, as much as I loved the beauty, I only sort of liked him. And every time I saw him I would think, "I wish Fumei was here instead of you." That is not good.

Simply put, I liked him but did not love him.

He knew it.

So I found him a home where he is loved. It has been another 9 years and I still can not face the idea of another. I say, yes give it a try. It may work out for you.

So Sorry - one of the hardest things in life is losing our beloved pets. Some people need time to get in the right frame of mind for a new addition, & some want to get one immediately to take their mind off the lost pet. There is no right or wrong answer. That being said, don't think of the new one as a replacement (pets are truly irreplaceable)! Only you can decide when the time is right to welcome a sequel to a well loved pet! My sincere condolences!

Eyesore, sorry to read of your loss, as others have mentioned, you're not alone, I still miss my buddy Rocky and it's been a few years.
I cried like a baby when I had to put him down (brain tumor/ seizures).
Keep walking your other pooch, and heap the lovin' on him/her.

so sorry for your loss. very hard saying goodbye to to our furry family members. we have a cabinet with all of the toys, puppy teeth, ashes, collars etc of our beloved pups from the 30 years me and the wife have been together. when we lost our last lab a few years ago, i swore i wouldn't go through that pain again, and then my son moved back home and got a dog..im only supposed to be the grampy but he is so far up my butt his paws are hanging out and i love him as much as he loves me. nothing like the love of a dog, unconditional.

You have my condolences. Losing a pet is a special kind of hurt, I know from experience (a number of times, sadly).

When you’re ready, take care to remember all of the good things you shared together … the pain will subside but those memories will remain.
