Default Fret Sprout

Greetings,
I just acquired an Eastman which appears that winter dryness has caused the dreaded “Fret Sprout”.
If I bring the humidity gradually up to 60%, will that remediate the issue or should I just dress the ends of the frets?
Thanks in advance.

The fret ends should be filed.

Getting your guitar up to 60% RH isn't a good idea. It's best to keep it between 40 and 50%. But even if you did get it up to 60% and the neck expanded so the frets weren't overhanging, it'll just happen again when the humidity drops.
