Thanks all - it's minor day surgery, had it before, andther surgeon indicated that rcovery is quicker than it was back then.

Just hope I can get it done so I can play when things open up, and dig my plots!

It’s going to be -20F tomorrow morning here in our corner of Minnesota. There’ll be no plot digging here for quite a while

I hope your surgery goes well, and that your recovery is quick. I had endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery done on both my wrists in mid-November/early December, and the recovery has been remarkable. I realize that that is not what you’re having done, but I offer it as encouragement. Modern surgical techniques are quite amazing.

Thanks all. Its just a matter of "hurry up and wait!"

I need to swathe my hands in ibuprofen and do some exercises before trying to play, which a) I want to, and b) I have to to give my zoom clients a fair deal in the lessons.

If it's trigger release surgery, you probably already know that PT can significantly shorten the recovery time.

If it is Dupuytrens, may you have the best of fortune. My dad has it bad and I am watchful for my own hands.

Yeah, the waiting is the worst part! Due to work I had to wait almost 9 months for a procedure back in 2019.

Best wishes for you AND your surgeon!

Wishing you a speedy recovery Andy. Between the pandemic limiting your club dates and the winter season keeping you out of your plots I think your timing is spot on.

Glad you’re going to be able to get it done soon, Andy. I had trigger thumb surgery a few years back and was amazed at how easy and painless it was! Back to playing in no time! Hope yours goes as well!

Hi Andy,
Just wondering how your surgery worked out. I also had Dupuytren's surgery on my left hand also a few years ago. I can still play without difficulty although the physical therapy hurt much more than the surgery. I now have developed Dupuytren's Contracture on my right hand and will need to have that seen to in the upcoming year.

All the best!

My dad was afflicted with Dupuytren's contracture in both hands in his 70s - not remotely convenient for a professional artist, drummer and fiddler. I don't know how severe his case was compared to others, but he continued to pursue those passions despite the inability to fully open either hand. I think he was wary of how successfully the surgery might go (last century), so he never did anything about it.

Technique and technology have both improved tenfold since then. I hope your recovery is quick and smooth.
