I just recently got a deal on a used Shure sm1 condenser mic. It works fine with my Soundcraft mixer and powered speakers; and also with my Fishman 330. However, I tried with my Jam 200 and it does not seem to work with the Schertler 24V phantom power. I am thinking I may have to get a phantom power accessory to use with the Schertler. (Xvive from Sweetwater). The thought is to turn off the 24v on the Schertler and use the Xvive which has 48v phantom power. Any Schertler owners with thoughts about this. Will my plan work? I bought the mic to use when I play dobro. l really like the Schertler and use it quite a bit. I also really like how the Shure 81 works picking up the dobro and would like to be able to use it with the Schertler. Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.

That's what I would do. I had problems with the JAM 200 phantom voltages. The 24V channel read 27.5V and the 10V channel read 7.5V when I measured them. And they didn't work with my accessories. On my vocal mic channel, I use a TC Mic Mechanic, which provides a true 48V for when I use a condenser mic (along with delay, reverb, pitch correction, compression, deEss etc). I love the sound of the amp but I wish it had proper 48V.

Shure SM81 accepts between
11 to 52 V DC phantom power (1.2 mA) https://pubs.shure.com/guide/SM81/en-US It is written in the manual: Quote:

I've tried once again to get sound through the Schertler using the sm81. But no go. I have three sound systems: Soundcraft EFX8 with DXR10 Yamaha powered speakers; And Fishman 330 sa; and the Schertler. It works good through the first two systems which have 48v phantom power. Not the Schertler. I'll just get the Xvive box and be done with it. The Schertler has great sound, but an amp of that price not having 48v and being sold in the USA seems kind of odd to me. But even with this glitch I remain please with the Jam 200 for my needs.

I think it’s designed to provide phantom power for their powered pickups, and possibly mics that don’t require a full 48v - the Jam 200 is a very nice unit, regardless -

It is weird… Back in the days, I used to own 2 Jam 150+ and could power my Shure beta 87a and DPA4099G mics.
In my memory, Schertler mixing interface was better than SR technology… that is why the former generalised it for the JAM series when they acquired the latter.

Please read that:
https://www.schertler.com/en-US/swis...09-22/EGIJJGKE It makes sens to me. Perhaps you have a faulty phantom power switch…
