I’ve seen Dave perform with that model, and I think he gets a good acoustic sound from the electronics.

Pretty cool with the dual pickup systems. How deep is the body? Looks deep from the photo. Bet that has some great tone.

I've owned both a Rainsong Jumbo and an Emerald X30 and preferred the slightly more restrained tone of the Rainsong...

I've had the pleasure of studying with David at a guitar camp years ago and subsequently meeting him after shows several times. His concerts were the last event we saw before the plague shut everything down, and the first live show after things unlocked again. He is amazing. His tone is wonderful too as he really has that dual pickup system dialed in. He likes the bottom end of the jumbo and is a tall fellow with long arms.

One thing I noted is that this newer signature model has the smiley bridge pin arrangement, like all other Rainsongs. His older signature model had a linear bridge pin layout. He uses altered tunings on nearly every song, so the intent was (reportedly) to maintain break angle at the saddle. I guess that isn't as important anymore. The price on that new model is pretty appealing for what you get - dual pickups and a hard case..

The jumbo and WS bodies are both 5" deep at the end block, according to specs.

This sounds like a great pickup solution for acoustic guitar. I have anthem pickups in 2 Rainsong acoustics and like the system. Having an extra K&K pickup would make it even better.

I agree! Let me say this though, given two separate output jacks, I'd have preferred the new LR Baggs HiFi over the model's K&K Pure Mini but then it wouldn't be the way David Wilcox has and currently--I guess--likes his pickup choices. The nice thing about the K&K Pure Mini with its separate output jack is that via a good preamp (FELiX 2) or mixer, it can be added in to taste without the feedback potential the jumbo carbon RainSong can project.

I have owned both the 6 string and 12-string versions of the jumbo and they are the only guitars I have regretted selling. They were my go to guitars when I was gigging. Such a well-balanced guitar and none of that twang sound on the 12 string...

I had the RainSong JM3000 Jumbo 12-String back in 2008 and regretted trading it a couple of years later for some other guitar. What a sweet-sounding twelver it was!
