Smile Nux Stageman II AC - 80 Suprisingly good

I tried out this amp in a guitar store in the west end and was impressed with the build quality and specs for the price .
These normally go for between £400 -£500

I was in Chelmsford seeing a friend and I passed by this music shop that was doing and end of stock sale on Guitars and amps

I saw this going for £260 reduced from £520 . Straight away I put a deposit down

. The next day I went and paid the rest .

I’m so glad I got this little beauty .

The sound quality is excellent . It ways about 10 kg
But has a lovely leather handle to carry it with . I used it with my Shure Beta 58a

It doesn’t have phantom power but the 58a sounds great . It’s very open sounding and has a lot of bottom end .
Sounds really nice with My Tanglewood TW40 Sundance slope shouldered guitar.

The reverb is really nice. The other EFX I don’t use .

It comes with a built in battery but I still need to work out how to charge the amp. I use a separate battery and invertor

Dave

How is the volume output , can it be used in small club / wine bars. . One of the professional review people compared it to a poor man’s AER with full on board affects.

Hi Rickenbaker1
Sorry for the slow reply .
I mainly use electro acoustic guitars . Having busked with this the last few days and doing a bit of tweaking .
I also used good quality guitar lead’s Klotz do excellent cables .

I am really suprised with the quality of these amps . Here is a video someone recorded on my iPhone last night Friday the 22nd September .

Listen with a good set of headphones and you can hear that though this speaker on the Nux amp is only 6.5 inches . It also has a tweeter . The sound is so rich and with plenty of bottom end .
Yes thier is a XLR output in the back so you can connect to the house PA .

Here is the clip of me doing a cover of Ralph McTell’s ‘Streets of London ‘

I’m using a Tanglewood Sundance TW40 . Slope shouldered sunburst guitar .

I’m using a Shure Beta 58a .

I would normally use one of my condenser mic but the amp doesn’t have phantom power.

But the Beta 58a comes accross crystal clear .

Supurb build quality .

I bought one of the NUX Stageman 80 WOW , how natural sounding . A good amp/ PA for small gigs . Haven’t used any of the effects , drium or looper yet but a really nice piece of equipment

I have the AC50. Guitar is great but my vocals don’t sound that clear, as I hear in the OP’s You Tube. I wish they did.

To the OP, great job on the sound. Any vocal settings you care to share.

Nice work on that song Mr. Blues. You sure don't need any reverb in that setting!
