Since the Lag Hi Vibe system uses two sensors on the face of the guitar, wouldn't a CF face greatly impact what those two sensors are picking up and therefore the tone of the guitar versus a wood face?
Since Emerald Guitars now offers the LAG Hi Vibe as an option I am considering ordering an Emerald with that system in it but not if the Hi Vibe tone is affected due to the face being carbon and not wood.

HyVibe system can significantly alter the sound with optional effects, but it doesn't really alter the inherent tone of the instrument. Now whether or not you will like the inherent tone of an Emerald guitar is a completely different question. I have an X7 with the HyVibe system and really like how it sounds. The built-in looper is a lot of fun and a useful tool. Here's a video with a duet of two Emerald guitars equipped with HyVibe. I believe they miked the guitars acoustically and went to a PA to fill the room with sound. My X7 with HyVibe isn't very loud acoustically, but can be plenty loud when I plug into an acoustic amp or PA. https://youtu.be/o3ef8pyWcG4 Last edited by dgaemc2; 09-08-2023 at 04:19 PM. I can't say that I love the Hyvibe on my x20.
1. The Under Saddle Transducer picks vibration, sends signal to hyvibe brain, which send signal to exciter (exactly under the bridge) to vibrate the sound board, which the UST again picks up. It feeds back so badly I think it's an apparent design flaw. 2. The piezo needs Hyvibe to be charged to function, it lasts about 4~5 hours without using the exciter. I forgot to charge it or turn it off and it went quiet during rehearsal. I find it to be a hassle. The battery is built in and not easily replaceable. A removable battery compartment would've been nice. 3. more information here:https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=674481 4: I wish I ordered the ghost piezo, with a looper on the floor. ![]() |

Re feedback, I recall they had some instructions on how to minimize it. I think it was to use a notch filter. Have you tried that?
