What to use to lubricate the knobs on mic stands? Thanks.

Ha-Ha. I found out I had posted almost the same question a number of years ago. WD-40 was recommended. Also other idea. I'd attach a way of seeing that thread but I don't know how to do this.

If you mean the clutch, and it's a friction clutch...nothing or you'll get a saggy stand.
You can lube that shaft with paste graphite, so it doesn't drip everywhere.

Funny/not funny. One of my DR Pro stands is now sagging. I lubed the screws that are supposed to move with 3 in 1 oil. I dried out and cleaned off the rubber washers but I still am getting the sagging.
Ultimate stands are now my new favorite.

NOTHING on clutch plates! But cams, clamp screws….I use a Teflon based lube that after application, evaporates and leaves a dry film that won’t attract grime or gum up like oils tend to do.
https://www.amazon.com/Tri-Flow-Sque...s%2C121&sr=8-2 Works great on tuners also. I put a drop on just about ALL my threaded hardware: mic clips, jam nuts, etc…
