Default Lagrima - 2nd recording

A little better. I'm on steroids for my allergy/asthma problem I had so we have a little less of the scuba diver noises,

Good note for tonight - I have the piece almost memorized. I play large sections without looking at the notation - I'm looking at my fingers instead (Karma bites you every time)

Bad note - I broke my thumb nail earlier in the evening so the thumb volume is worse than usual.

The mics are two LDC, but moved in now to about 18" and lower (even with top of guitar approximately)

Lagrima:

Certainly better, well done!

The first section is pretty much there, really good. The second still presents some moments when you rush, especially the descending scale (it should be at the same speed as the beginning).

Think of it like singing the beginning this way: "tala-tala-tala-la, lo-lo-lo-boom-lo, tala-tala-tala-la..." and apply the same singing for the descending scale.

Hope this helps, and am happy to hear such a good progress!

Thanks, great advice! I'll put more work into this.

Default Keep up the good work…

I love this piece and although it’s simple compared with much of the classical repertoire, to play it really well is a challenge.

Renowned Swedish musician, Goran Sollscher, has a wonderful YouTube channel and his most recent post is Lagrima. His version may give you some ideas for phrasing and expression. Wonderful arrangements of some Beatles classics as well.

Practise and enjoy in equal measures.
