That was lost on me either!

Maybe it's because it's a standard "Long" scale?

Moving on, the top lining is complete along with the top bevel reinforcement.

Ryan sent me several options (OK, 6!) to choose from for the headstock overlay.

This is the one we ended up selecting--it seems like the perfect match!

I can confidently confirm that the match is even better in person. iPhone's color correction is making them look more different than they are in pics. Great choice!

Default The cool factor continues...
Much progress made on the FS today...

The sides are to the final back radius, the linings have been installed, and the pockets have been routed out for the back braces.

I wanted to have a laminated neck and expressed my desire to have the laminations appear as if they were an extension of the back strip inlay continuing up the neck. Steve was onboard (he did rib me about it though!), so 9 pieces later the neck is glued and clamped up!

Having a custom build with these guys is really too much fun!

The top is braced and carved, the soundport is bound, and the back is joined to the sides.
