I played this the other day and said to myself, I can't believe I'm going to let this one go. It really plays well and sounds fantastic. If you've never owned a maple backed guitar, this is a really good one. I need to sell because of ongoing commission but I'd keep if not for that. Will also consider trades should you want to dive into the world of maple guitars.

This is a custom build by Marc Beneteau that I had built in 2008. It is a wonderful instrument, full and robust in sound, clear and concise in tonality. It really shines as a recording instrument, always impresses in how it can sound. This guitar build was started in 2008 but I did not receive delivery until April of 2009.

Priced now at $5,000 plus shipping.

This is really a great price on a minty condition Beneteau which has aged beautifully without any damage to neck angle, fret wear, or disposition.

I am original owner having ordered directly from Marc Beneteau in July 2007. This guitar features many upgrades including:

Flamed Maple back and sides
Aged Sitka Spruce top Venetian (rounded) cutaway
1 3/4 inch nut width
25.4 inch scale length
2 1/4 inch bridge spacing
Spalted Maple Rosette 5 piece maple neck
Honduran Rosewood bindings and purfling
Ebony bridge
Gotoh 510 tuners Antique Gold 21:1
Bone nut saddle Diamond and Squares Position Markers
Clear pickguard
Medium Sunburst back with sides and neck to match
Hardshell Case (tweed)

Also noteworthy is the neck profile, a rounded C shape but a little thicker than Marc's standard neck profile. The setup playability is excellent and has not changed at all since I first bought this. If you've been on the fence about owning a maple guitar, this one is a great one to experience.

No kidding. I have a maple/spruce Beneteau baritone and if I wasn't trying to ease into retirement I'd be all over this.
