Smile Cort Gold A6 Becote

I purchased this Cort Gold A6 Becote .

I tried it out a few times . What I love about this guitar is the all solid construction. The solid Sitka spruce top plus the solid Becote back & sides

Plus the pick up is excellent. It’s a fishmen Flex Blend which has a mic / underrsaddle pick up so you have volume tone and dial for mic .

The sound is very good, punchy with lots of headroom plus warm sounding .

Really enjoying the sound quality . A real joy to play .

Dave

I had my eye on an A6 awhile back. Congratulations! A buddy of mine has a 12 string Cort that looks great, sounds great, and plays very easily for a 12 string.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the recommendation on your new guitar. I especially appreciate your first hand endorsement of the Flex Blend system. I’ve never been a fan of Fishman’s Sonitone UST, but I have to admit that the demos which I’ve heard of Sonitone/mic combos (in the Flex Blend and Presys Blend systems) sound pretty darn good.

I’m beginning to regret replacing the Sonitone system in one of my guitars with a Baggs LB6. I suspect that the Sonitone would have blended better with the Baggs Lyric mic which I have installed in the same guitar (on a second jack). The LB6’s six piezo crystals are wired in a manner which helps inhibit feedback. It’s a double-edged sword, however, as the “phase cancellation” wiring makes it more difficult to blend the LB6 with other signal sources.
