Default Started using a RC-5 looper at my performance

I've been playing some short gigs (45 minute). I'm billed as an acoustic act. First time was just me and second time me + cajon. I decided to try me + looper pedal on Wednesday. I used a Boss RC-5 and it went okay. My only complaint about the RC-5 is when you clear it starts to play. I'm thinking about a RC-500 instead which is not that much more money.

When you are going to stop the loop, you can press twice and hold, that will clear the loop without it sounding again.

OR you can get the Boss FS-5U to add to your RC-5, and that will stop and/or clear the loop without it playing for a second. Also, you only have to press the footswitch once to stop.

Thanks Joe. I'll give that a try today.

Have you ever loaded backing tracks to the RC-5?

No I haven't Richard. Hope those other workarounds work for you.

Maybe a drum pad?

I have the RC-500 and have loaded a few basic tracks I recorded using my acoustic for percussion and a bass guitar for, well, the bass. Works great once you have the file version type worked out. I don't know if it's the same for the RC-5 but on the 500 you have to import a WAV (44.1 kHz, 32-bit float, stereo) or WAV (44.1kHz, 16bit, stereo) for older units. I found this info online from an individual and don't remember seeing it in the manual.

You are correct that it has to be a WAV file. My set is only 10 songs. I'm looking at backing tracks and hopefully I can work it out before my next performance.
