NGD Yamaha LS16
I received my new Yamaha LS16 guitar with Rosewood B/S today. I spent the afternoon playing it, sometimes switching to the FS5 for comparison. As expected the LS16 is a brighter sound than the FS5. I did find it interesting that the LS is between 1/4" and 1/2" deeper than the FS model. It's noticeable when they are in the rack. The fit and finish does not disappoint. I think the two models complement each other well. My wife, who is tone deaf can hear a difference between the two.

Congratulations! I had a red LS16. It was a great guitar. I think I traded it for a SLG200S.

Congrats. Nothing like a good Yammy, and the LS16 is one of the greats IMO.
Hope it brings you much joy over the years! Cheers! |

I have both the LS16 and FSX5 also. Very different beasts IMO. Both have unique voices to them. For me the FSX5 wins out ever so slightly.
Congratulations on 2 great guitars.

There is a definite size difference between the LS and FS models, however, I just tried putting the LS16 in the hard case that came with my FS5 and it fits. I'm probably more apt to use the LS case to transport my FS to jams. It will be interesting to see how the LS16 opens up in time.

Last week I received my LS16 (rosewood model), as well as a CSF1. Really enjoying how both of them sound. The LS has a beautiful ringing tone and so much sustain. The craftsmanship is flawless! The little laminate CSF1 is no slouch either. It's now my regular "recline on the couch" guitar and travel guitar and I've sold both of my GS minis.
