Neck rest question
What is a good neck rest to go with, I’ve seen cork ones , plastic ones and wood ones? Any suggestions is much appreciated.

Soft leather. Also useful for sighting in rifles.

Yes. I like the bunny-ear model 14A. A little more expensive, but it's the one most commonly used as a neck rest.

Will the oils in the leather have any effect on the finish?

They might, if contact was long enough. I'd personally stay away from products made for gun use as the leather is most likely oil or chromium tanned. The leather neck supports sold for musical instrument use should be vegetable tanned leather, but verify that before purchase.
I have the Stu-Mac neck support made from cotton canvas. You can always throw an old cotton wash cloth on top if you are concerned about scratching the finish. For many years I used a small bag of play sand wrapped in a cotton towel. Cheap and easy to pick up a new bag of sand if the original starts "leaking". The additional weight of the sand is ideal as a buck when fretting a neck, too. Music Nomad makes great products for guitar care. You might think about the MusicNomad Cradle Cube.
