Hey Chriscom - Honestly, I was buzzing like a little kid yesterday when I was buying the Pro8. I got home and unboxed it, plugged in and decided immediately it's a keeper!

It is "larger and heavier" so it may not be for everyone.

But with all the enhancements including the larger bass module, extra speakers in array, Reverb, Bluetooth, Phantom power, individual EQs plus the really cool Mix App ..

Without question - this is a huge upgrade - sound is fantastic!

Thanks PJ, It was sensational at the wedding. I was extremely pleased and felt it outperformed my former Bose L1 Compact. More low-end punch when the band was playing. *We put some kick drum into the mix and it was much more impressive. Tonally for the Acoustic guitar/vocals when we were playing the ceremony, it was superb.

I am thrilled. I don't really 'need' anything more. My band mate will be ordering an L1 Pro8 so the band can use a pair. We have successfully used a pair of Bose L1 Compacts for the past 6 years or more. The L1 Pro8's are better IMHO.

What Jake said (Yes) fits what I'd expected. The gear-specific Tonematch presets are from the Bose library (that I think they stopped updating, would love to be wrong) so I'd assume all of that is available for all the Tonematches.

Now that you’ve had some time with the L1Pro8, how would you rate it compared with the EV Evolve50 you had, apples to apples?
Basically, in terms of pure power and tone. Does the Bose “hit” with the same emphasis as the EV? I know each individual speaker is almost twice as large as the Bose. Is the difference noticeable in frequency response or negligible?

Hi Rogue, Thank you for the nice comment.

Ultimately, if you are using it in a band, I think the EV hits harder on the subwoofer side. But overall the Bose L1 Pro8 app, Tonematch settings, usability, ease of carry and broad dispersion are way more valuable to me. I didn't want to carry the EV Evolve 50 and I have no issues with the Bose L1 Pro8. The Sub module is very easy to carry and lighter than the EV. But it may have less power for band or kick drum or bass. I sold my EV so I cannot compare them. For my needs, the Bose L1 Pro8 is ideal for me in my solo, duo and band formats. (Our band typically plays at the volume of acoustic drums)

Yep! The Bose Pro8 really nails it for what Gary mentions above. I have had mine for a couple weeks and absolutely love it!

It's perfect for solo/duo acoustic/singer rig. The sound is "more" of what I like about the S1 Pro and L1 Compact. It's very lush and "musical" and appealing.

In addition, the Bose App (I use with both my iPhone and/or iPad) really enhances the experience and makes it so easy to dial in the sound, Mix inputs, EQ, volume, mute channels, stream music, etc.
