I had no idea they would taunt tigers that way. It seems amazing to me that a primate (was that a gibbon?) would actually swing down and smack a tiger. It seems counter-productive to your survival.

Yeah, I ended up rooting for the tiger.

What is the backstory? Is there an unknown reason for the gibbon to pester the tiger cubs like that? Maybe the cats are too close to some gibbonettes? And why did the tigers stay?

Yes, The ape (lesser ape) is a gibbon, and the tigers are cubs, and from the Gibbon's point of view they are predators in his/her territory and a threat to his group.

I don't know which is more astonishing:
1. The gibbon's behavior.
2. That such a rare event in the wild was captured by a professional camera crew with multiple cameras that just happened to be there.

Really, what are the odds?
Hmmmm.

Maybe this filming wasn't a coincidence, but somehow set up by a producer.

Gotta admit the sound effects were pretty funny.

True, that.

Fascinating interaction between the ape and the young tigers--each side adding interesting behavioral antics to the action: Some fun gibbon take...
