Default Sometimes no pickguard....

Just looks better. I usually like most guitars with a pickguard on but for some reason this one just looks better without. It may be the sunburst finish..I don't know but it sure is a looker without the guard.

There's something special about seeing the full burst top of a Gibson. I prefer my Gibsons (Les Pauls) without a pickguard myself.

That's one beauty! How do you like the P-90s?

These come with Gibson P90s
This one is not mine but after seeing this pic I'm pulling my pickguard off my 61 50th anniversary Epiphone Casino.

Sorry, I disagree. I think they always look better with pickguards and pickup covers. But that's just me.

I'm normally not a pickguard fan, my Les Paul has it removed.

However I'm looking for a pickguard for this 1963 Gibson ES 125T, the original ones are $200-$400.

We just got this one home this weekend. Did an unboxing and plugged it in on my YouTube Channel.

I saw this guitar in person last month. It's unique - probably the only one like this around! It's a keeper too.

I took the pickguard off of my Ibanez LGB30. I am 90% a fingerstyle player, and that pickguard was way too high.

It did leave 2 small screw holes - one on the lower bout and one on the soundboard. But playability trumped the looks.

I wonder why the guard is so darn high on most archtops?

That 125 is sweet! Nice score. That's certainly a keeper.
How does it feel and play now that you've settled in with it?
