Default Need a Preamp for My Gibson J15 Recommendations?

I'm lacking EQ and tone shaping...

It has the LR Baggs Element pickup

LR Baggs Para DI is ugly, but built like a tank and gets the job done. Mine is a staple on my acoustic pedal board.

I really like the Fishman Platinum Pro EQ. Has everything you need in one preamp. But if you don't love the Pieze Baggs Element, the preamp is not going to remove the Piezo 'quack'. IMHO/IME

Not that I don't want or like the quack, my PA speakers don't have eq on each channel and it limits any adjustments to tame certain freqs

Can't go wrong with the Baggs Para DI or Venue DI, depending on your needs. I've been using my Venue for about 4 years and it has held up to lots of gigging and traveling, and allows me to dial in sounds for different rooms and different pickup systems.

I've been using a Grace Design BiX with my J-15. Love it.

I like the venue. The session does a good job of fattening and smoothing the piezo tone but doesn’t have any EQ so I had to buy both! You can get the align series pedals now which could be useful for you.

ToneDexter has all the good preamp functions and is a killer IR machine.

My recommendation more on the budget side is a Zoom MS50G multi-effect, which I like to use with my J15 (equipped with the Element).
Up to six effects at the same time with a lot to choose from, graphic and parametric EQs, compressors, BBE maximizer style effect among many others.

Funny you say this.... I pulled out my Old Digitech RP80 and plugged it in...Tamed the quack and gave me a bunch of effects...
But this is only temporary because I have a TC Play Acoustic Coming..
