What do you think of the little tune I just came up with . I know it’s sloppy

Just avoid listening to Kansas play 'Dust In The Wind', or perhaps you might, just to be safe:-)

Thanks for sharing. Try composing chords and harmony around a melody rather than a melody around notes available in a chord.
Try making arrangements of some simple tunes that use simple chords and chord progressions. For example many Christmas
tunes work well. When you can make of some arrangements around those melodies then try making up some of your own melodies
and arrangements around those.
