Thanks for sharing. Try composing chords and harmony around a melody rather than a melody around notes available in a chord.
Try making arrangements of some simple tunes that use simple chords and chord progressions. For example many Christmas tunes work well. When you can make of some arrangements around those melodies then try making up some of your own melodies and arrangements around those.
