is anyone able to tell a beginner such as myself how Furusawa plays this on his Youtube video,particularly the opening riff?

Hi there,

It looks like he strums E chord twice, down then up (on the first one he starts with an Em and quickly hammers on to the G string with his index finger. Then he strums an A chord twice, down then up.

He repeats this a few times, and at one point he throws in the following instead of the E chord:

Down strum with middle finger on 3rdfret of G string, index finger on 2nd fret of B string. Slide both fingers down a fret and strum up.
