Maybe that oddball SF needed one final inspection in AZ before heading through customs?

I received a tracking number from Emerald seemingly for the AnPost system. However, when I plugged it in, I got the following message:

Our Item Tracking system has not recognised the number(s) that you have entered.

Please check you have entered the correct tracking number. However, it is possible that we may not yet have received your item. Please try tracking your item again later.

My guitar was said to have been shipped Tuesday and I got the belated tracking info today (Thursday) but I thought that my Emerald would have been in and out of the Irish postage by now and on its way to the US. Can anyone shed some possible light??? At what point will I receive a USPS tracking number? Is there any notification sent as to either entering or clearing US customs?

It's really best to buy some sake and just wait....I never had any luck tracking mine. It just arrived one day.

Both times mine showed activity when it arrived at Heathrow and left Heathrow. They never send a USPS number, but there's some sort of second number that shows up in the Irish tracking system. Their email said this:

"If you live in the US or Canada, a number beginning with EF…. will appear on the Irish tracking. You can copy and paste this number and use it on www.usps.com"

And that number did show up somewhere in the process, although I don't recall where or how. And once I had that, I could see when it left customs in NYC and then track it the rest of the way. But I seemed to have a much smoother process with the tracking than some folks, so I guess sometimes it works better than others...

Any response to the tracking number yet?

I checked back on mine from about a year ago. I don't recall the exact sequence, but there was a bit of a black hole for a while, and then, all of a sudden, 'Out for Delivery'.

That one took six days, door to door (Cavanacaw to Minnesota).

I'll start the same ritual for #2 next week

Sounds about right, maybe Wednesday at the latest. Sounds like they printed labels and had it ready for shipping earlier in the week, but I bet it actually started it's journey last night or this morning. I recall getting that Heathrow notice sometime Friday or Saturday, having it clear US customs on Monday, and then having it show up at my place near Philly on Tuesday. Being in Virginia (and not the DC part), it might take an extra day for you, but I doubt more than that. But you could have another small black hole for a couple days. I don't think I ever heard about it clearing customs until later on Monday after wondering if something had happened to it. And then, bam, there it was out for delivery the next morning.

Regardless, by next week this time you will have forgotten all about the wait...

Good going David. Just imagine the anticipation you've created. Heck, Tuesday is almost tomorrow. Everything's turning up roses.........But it is all good--hope is good. I hope the guitar arrives on the imagined schedule and look forward to future reviews.

Thought and reviews please!

I also like that you went for black weave. What spruce is to traditional acoustic looks, black is to CF.

Just means it hasn’t cleared customs in New York. Did you get that “E” number yet? I don’t remember exactly when in the process that happens, but it’s the number that will track it once it’s in USPS hands. The Irish tracking number only works until it leaves Heathrow. The other one picks it up from there, but I don’t recall how or when it gets to you...
