I love 12 fret dreads and have placed an order for one of these. Does anyone have recent experience with one of these and care to comment?

I have no doubts about the quality. My only issue is the volume and tone. An AY which costs as much as a D-28 needs to sound even better.

Well, I've had it for over a year now and it's staying here. Great quality and unique sound. It's not a Martin Authentic or a Collings, but its not a step down either.

Kazuo Yairi instruments ("Alvarez Yairi") are very, very good and very underrated.

Thanks for the update. I had the opportunity to play a new Alvarez Yairi recently and was very impressed. If I was in the market for a 2k guitar they would be on a short list.
