[d’Entremont Custom Guitars]

In this episode I build the harp for the inside of the guitar. It turned out well and should fit nicely. I’ll be screwing it in to the guitar to add resonance to the sound of the guitar. It was tuned to dadgad for this sample at the end, but I’m not sure how I’ll tune it when in the guitar. Let me know what you think down in the comments! DADGAD EADGBE or another?

No problem! I’m glad to share! It will be very interesting to see how the string reverberator / sympathetic strings turn out on this guitar. I’m excited to see it come together.

In this episode I install the frets, and dress them. Lots of work goes into fretting, and there are many ways of how to install and dress frets. This is the way I was taught, I like it, so I do it this way. I may build a fret press some day however. But not for this one.

In this episode, I glue on the neck, and build the bridge. Fun times in the maritimes over here!
The bridge is pinless system, and since I’m using stabilized wood from dentremontwoodworking.com it will be strong as all get out!

Thanks for posting! I would would like to about harp concept. Have others done this? First time? Does it work?

I recall reading an article about how Micheal Dunn created a guitar sound board / box in the body of a guitar. A guitar in a guitar sort of thing. I think he he was experimenting with a maccaferri idea.

Thanks! I haven’t seen it before. But there are many other instruments that have sympathetic strings, so it’s not that far off.
