Due to an issue with some warranty work, the good folks at N’Stuff Music offered me a deal on one I couldnt refuse! There just happened to be a 00 hanging in their shop, and after reading this thread, picked it up to play. SUPER light (3.7 lbs) and pretty loud and clear. Gig bag is nice too, maybe just half a notch below Taylor’s aerocase, but plenty good for toting guitar to our re-opened coffee shop.

One glitch….the serial numbers dont match on the stamped headstock number and the typed number on the label. All the same, but last two digits are switched. Im sure it was a dyslexic moment, the guitar is legit.

Nice find Dave. These are nice guitars IMO. Of course I am biased since I love my G-00.
Congrats!

If you like your present guitar, search out a (discontinued) Gibson J-15 and sit down for a good side-by-side workout - then report back and tell us what you think...

I'm still really enjoying the G-00! The sound port makes a difference (at least to me) in the sound. I would love to also try a G-200 and compare them. Have any of you tried the G-200?

Figured I’d post another update. I’ve had this guitar, G-00, for a month now. It’s incredible. It’s such a great deal! $999 for an American made solid wood Gibson!

I also really like my G-45 Studio! I’d say the G-00 is a bit warmer. The G-45 Studio sounds more treble to me.

Sorry but I would have a hard time describing a guitar with that body style clocking in at 3.7 pounds as "super light."

It feels very light in my hands and that’s comparing to other light guitars in my stable. It may could lose a few grams with open tuners. The neck feels a tad heavy towards that end.

I’m playing mine everyday and agree, aeisen! It’s such a great guitar.

I’ve had a chance to play it back to back with my 00-18 and the 18 is richer, warmer, more refined, but the G-00 is more responsive and louder. Seems to be a bit better for strumming. Love it!
