1920s era German / Viennese Guitar, cool tuners!
Hi everyone,
Offering up for sale an unlabeled German / Viennese style guitar. Old world craftsmanship throughout, like the covered V-jointed headstock. Spruce top and maple back and sides, rosewood fingerboard. In remarkable shape! No cracks I can see in the body, just what looks like surface wear from about 100 years of age. It is playing well and in need of nothing but enjoyment. My favorite thing about it may be the tuners, which are just beautiful. It comes with the original canvas carrying bag. Given the case situation I'd like to explore a local pickup (Hudson Valley or Queens) but will ship carefully packed as well. Asking 750 shipped / paypal'ed to the continental US, open to offers. Thanks for looking! 3276A94F-D154-498E-AAE1-158F9876166C_1_105_c.jpg 35C2851F-B446-4F81-BAE3-7F9C478EC929_1_105_c.jpg 3952E046-30ED-426A-8EE3-9B98FE8782E0_1_105_c.jpg D617EAEB-F7A9-46C4-B32C-3CAC0AE7D3AD_1_105_c.jpg EA3D358B-98C1-4C3F-A403-AD44C7F50FE2_1_105_c.jpg F9805527-7EC9-4CDC-82B6-320477E90FE2_1_105_c.jpg Last edited by DLQ; 10-16-2020 at 08:30 AM. |

What a cool,old guitar.
Could you share some specs with us, please? Specifically, nut width and scale length. Also, do you know how it’s braced? Thanks! |

Nut: ~44mm Scale length: ~620mm Depth: ~62mm at heel to ~72mm at tail Lower bout width: ~12.5" String height at 12th fret: just above 3mm from bass to treble Bracing looks like a simple ladder. At the risk of turning people away with my playing, I just made a quick clip of it in action. Just wanted to show it's in great playing condition as well! The link is here. Thanks for your interest and any other questions let me know! |

DLQ,
There is certainly nothing wrong with your playing! Well done! Thanks for the information. I shouldn’t be but I always am a bit surprised by the narrower nuts on these romantic style guitars. I personally need more space. Someone will certainly enjoy this one. GLWS. Best, Tom |

I agree with Tom: your playing is very fine indeed.
What strings (brand, gauge, material) do you put on this guitar? |

I believe they are regular D'addario, but it would nice to get some synthetic gut on it. |
