Hey, timely thread. I took a picture of my Epiphone next to my new Gibson today just for fun.
My EJ-200 is a 2012 model which was the last year of the full body straight acoustic versions ... until now! Good to see them back.

Hi, Bruce! Not to be cracking wise, but how much do you expect to play the Epi going forward?

I still have a lot of love for my EJ-200, nut was as narrow as I could go and it needs a firm approach to get the most out of it but I really enjoy mine. Great guitar for the money. Will that love fade? Probably yes. As you can probably imagine, the Gibson is in another category ... it should be, I paid just over 30x more for it!

Man, I have not even thought about Epiphone in years, but this and the new white Dove have me wondering. Still holding out hope that Gibson will release a G-200 eventually, though, like their G-45s.

That's a great idea! I'll bet Gibson would sell a lot of G-200s.

With the discontinuation of the Washburn Cumberland J28 and Alvarez AJ60, it's nice to see another low-end jumbo option besides the Guild F-250e; finally got the rosette closer to right, too - I think Sweetwater's going to sell a lot of them...

500 bucks? That's amazing! Love that burst! I used to have half a dozen Epiphones and really enjoyed them. Sometimes I wish I was still in my Epiphone era.

Finally some great news in 2020! I've been wanting an EJ-200 for years now and really only ever see the cutaway version (yuck) for sale. Cheers!

Very cool. I’ve long had a soft spot in my heart for that model thanks to this album cover (and photos inside the booklet that came with the CD):
That said, the Oasis guitar I always wanted was the Union Jack Sheraton. |

Anyone played the new US built Epiphone Texan yet? I can't recall a company ever trying to bring a brand back to US manufacture after making it a budget import.

The Bozeman take on the J200 already features a comparatively slimmer body. After WWII, Gibson continued to increase the body depth. By the early-1950s, the J200 had acquired a depth of 4 7/8" at the butt. The Bozeman version is slimmed down to 4 3/4."
