I did The NYC Five Boroughs Bike Tour this year, 2nd time. Came up a day early. Had a visit to a drummers Mecca. Steve Maxwell's Drum Shop near MSG.

This is the snare wall. Almost walked out with a vintage Gretsch 4160 Snare.

The cymbal in the foreground is a Meinl 28" ride.

Sorry...no guitars this year.

The snow that is still fresh in the hills has melted down below, greening our valley up nicely ...

The Fuji Finepix 'bridge' camera I've been using for 5-6 years died on me the first full day of my vacation last week. (I had my old SOny pocket digital camera and phone to use for the rest of the vaca.) Something locked up inside (shutter/mirror). I was fairly happy with the quality of photos from it, although the AF lag was sometimes annoying. It was not expensive, either, around $160 new, and the 1200mm zoom was way more than I ever used.
So searching for a new camera, I found Fuji no longer makes this line of bridge cameras. Ordered a Panasonic Lumix at twice the price of the Fuji.

Thanks, I pulled up behind a fellow that was taking the same picture. Turns out he had just raked his field to send a photo to his daughter that was homesick.

Mr. Paul, I can see your Sangre de Cristos out one of our bedroom windows. We see the north end of them. Funny, some days they look like I could reach out and touch them, and other days they look to be 50 miles away (which they are).

Very beautiful though, especially with all that snow on them.

(I live up by Mt. Princeton, btw.)

The shots on post #99 and #109 were taken on a Panasonic Lumix FZ80.
Incredible zoom range and an awesome panorama mode.

I would have suggested a used Sony NEX. They're good little cameras and you can get them with a kit lens (which is pretty decent for a kit lens) for less than $250 on eBay.

These aren't amazing, but it's my first pics with a cheap full spectrum converted Ricoh I bought on eBay. I'm waiting for some IR filters, so these are full spectrum edited it a bit:

Doesn't seem like the kind of thing most are interested in, but I've tried a couple of random photos on BART this morning. Needs work, need added interest, but I like the exposure and the stealth camera settings.
