Default 2013 Martin d 42 custom shop truss rod

I just got this guitar. It has lite strings 54 - 12s and has a little buzzing. To my astonishment there's a hole for a truss rod but can't see one installed. Anyone know if that's normal? Or is it way back in guitar neck?

Martin uses a 5 MM Allen wrench.
Here’s e a link to what you need. The truss rod sits at least an inch, if not more within the hole, hence why the wrench has a long reach

Go slow, especially when tightening the truss rod (taking away relief)
Maybe a 1/4 turn at a time

But if your buzzing it might be back bowed which means to loosen it
But the buzz could come from other issues. Bringing it to a (great) tech would be the thing to do if you are not experienced with guitar set ups.

I was able to find a 5mm alan wrench . I just loosened it about 1/6 of a turn. The wrench was just barely long enough. Neck Now has a little relief. Thanks for your help. It was my first time seeing a truss rod that deep in the neck
