Charley Patton's Moon Going Down. I used to think Robert Johnson was the king of the delta blues but now I know it was CP. It's taken me well over one day to learn this tune and it's still a work in progress. I find his songs fairly simple harmonically but very challenging in technique.

A couple of weeks ago I learned Dan Fogelbergs "Another Auld Lang Syne" in about an hour. The chord progression and piano riff were actually very easy, and even in my advanced state of memory retention failure, once I figured out that the lyrics were a storyline of A) a chance meeting B) short dialogue C) farewell
I was able to retain them quite easily.

Just yesterday I was watching one of Forum Sponsors Maury's Music on a YouTube show and figured out that if I spend a little time I should be able to get "Lawyers, Guns and Money" and "Running on Empty" down in an hour or so.

DBW, its a fantastic tune! Did you figure out the FP pattern by yourself or found a good tab?

I'm having a go at "The One I Love", by David Gray.

I watched Marty Music and the YouTube video of him playing/singing at Austin City Limits (he's playing the brown Martin). I have the pattern down now (a medium slow version at this point). I think I will need to do the 1- 123456 (Da- dadadadada as Marty calls it) pattern for the intro and simplify it for when the singing comes in. But it's coming along.
(My guitar instructor hates Marty Music- I'm doing this behind his back- haha)

The other day I'm in the hardware store and over the muzak comes CSN's "Just a Song Before I Go." I had forgotten about that one. It stuck in my head so last night I figured out the chords. Once I get the lyrics memorized it'll be my latest cool song.

“Tennessee Blues” by Steve Earle. Using the lesson provided by Steve Earle & Happy Traum...from the great folks at Homespun.

When I'm Sixty Four. I'm five weeks away from that milestone. What a freaking fun song to play. McCartney is a frigging genius.
