In this instance, I would lean towards he "known" vs. the unknown, especially with a Taylor and especially with a 12 string.
My friend has a 150e and for occasional use, it does the job quite nicely. It's the flagship of that price point in my book.

I have a '74 Guild F212XL and Love It! Not the same animal but I played a Taylor 150 and it was okay.... That old Guild is BEAST!
