Default Breezin' (George Benson)

Hello folks,

I've been learning a lot of jazz as a mix after 30 years of fingerstyle guitar. Here's a cover of George Benson's Breezin'.

I'm using an Eastman all solid archtop guitar.

Cheers!

Very nice, Edwin! That sounded really good! That's a challenging piece to learn!

Interesting, I am working on a piece right now using my Eastman Archtop. It's a fun guitar!

Very well done! Wore out the album in the 70's. I could never get my fingers/head beyond the main melodic motifs. Following the changes with the arpegios is beyond my pay grade. Good job!

Thank you! It’s a little challenging, but fun to play at the same time. Which Eastman do you have? I’m pretty pleased with mine. Hard to find in Australia at moment.

Thank you! I’m playing Joscho Stephan’s solo in this. I’m still new to jazz so trying to learn from the best!

Thank you! Me too. Pretty happy to learn the song. Need to learn George Benson’s licks now!

Hi Edwin,

I have a sunburst finish AR910CE. I have a couple video examples up in Show & Tell, "Georgia on my Mind" and "Dream a Little Dream" that use this guitar. I like it a lot.

Your approach with a plectrum sounds a little different than my approach with my fingers, but I like the sound you are getting very much.

Oh wow. The sunburst looks amazing! I couldn’t find an 810ce so I ended up getting the 910. It’s my first archtop so still getting used to it.
