Al moved the store about a year or so ago. Still on Scotsdale road, but a less expensive location with better visibility.

Always has something interesting in stock.

If I were going to the area I'd definitely be making a visit to Jon Garon at My Favorite Guitars. You might want to contact him directly and let him know you'd like to come by. So glad he moved there - now guitars only take a day or two to get here.

It looks like My Fav Guitars is closing soon per Jon's recent retirement announcement.
I also recommend Acoustic Vibes. I bought a Collings mandolin there a few years ago.
Also, there is a place north of Scottsdale called Cave Creek Guitars. Not much of a website, but that last time I was there they had Collings guitars and some high end Fender electrics. Some used stuff.

Oh wow I had not heard that. Where/when did he announce that? I don't see anything on his website. I'm sure glad I got the 000-18 recently. It's a forever guitar.

Kicking myself for not going while I was there in December. I figured I'd go the next time I was in town.

Another vote for the MIM — but don’t feel like you have to commit to an entire day there, which seems a bit extreme.

Not guitar-related — but if you like pizza you owe it to yourself to go to Pizzeria Bianco, which is consistently ranked by critics and bloggers as a top-ten pizzeria in the USA.

And for something a little different, I recommend Chino Bandido — an interesting mix of Chinese/Mexican/Caribbean.

MY FAVORITE GUITARS in Surprise, AZ!!!

Jon's retiring SOON, but he's not yet retired! You won't find a nicer, more knowledgeable guy. You also won't get a more rock bottom price, anywhere. Check his website for inventory.

The Mandolin Store actually just moved to the Nashville metro area. Got an email from them to this effect.
