Mine would be a 12-fret Dreadnought, 1-3/4" bone nut, solid Mahogany back and sides, solid Adirondack top, slot headstock, Adirondack bracing, ebony binding, blue & white purfling, inlay of some sort at only the 12th fret, gloss finish all around...

Too easy.

Guilson FJ-255

That's a cross between a Guild F-55 and a Gibson SJ-200

My signature model would be:

Round shoulder dreadnaught
not 100% sure of the species of spruce top
sunburst finish
Koa back and sides
Bound ebony fingerboard with abalone diamond and snowflake inlays
24.9" scale
1 23/32" nut width

It would be a deep-body OM w/ Sitka top & Brazilian back/sides. I would go the James Taylor route except with Stephen Kinnaird. I have what would be my signature guitar.

As I consider myself a “regular” guy....
Something in an Alvarez Masterworks, or Yairi.
Dread cutaway body.
Solid Spruce over Solid Rosewood. Semi-gloss finish.
FST bracing.
Swap out the standard Grovers for Gotoh 510’s.
Amber buttons.
SYS650 electronics.
Standard semi hard gigbag in dark brown or black, as I really don’t care for the tan.

Probably a Martin 000-18 authentic natural top with only Martin stamped on the back of the headstock. That would be killer

* I would keep their asymmetrical neck profile with unbound fret board with their dovetail joint that has the newer reinforced extensions and uses HHG... but add a 1 3/4 nut instead of 1 11/16.

** I would keep the NEX body shape and in satin finish use cedar over Honduran Mahogany with mahogany headstock cap instead of rosewood. I would also keep their standard x-brace that is scalloped but not fs.

*** Maintain the Gotoh tuners they already use, but in pewter with MOP buttons like my KC70 has.

**** I would maintain the pinless bridge (I do not like pinned bridges!) with bone split saddle... but use Rio Braz for the bridge like Lowden used to do.

***** Inlays on headstock would incorporate an abalone palm tree above the abalone Takamine logo similar to my KC70, but different in size and style. Fretboard markers none, except a blue-green paua ocean wave inlay underneath the 12-13th fret. Nickel medium frets @.48 crown height (not a fan of EVO gold or SS). Rosette would incorporate matching blue-green paua rings with mahogany and rosewood. Binding and back center strip would be grained-aged looking ivoroid also trimmed with blue-green paua.

****** Electronics would still be Takamine's Palathetic pickup with the CT4BII preamp, tho maybe the CT4DX which I also like.

That's a wrap, cheers!

Takamine need look no further, the recipe for the next limited editions has been written!

Martin 00-18 with long (25.4”) scale, deep body, Adirondack top, Adirondack GE bracing, and MLO/PA neck.

Already own it, but it should be a big seller. Everybody wants an “opencee” signature model.

Nice wood choices - have you deliberately gone for non-tropical woods there?

Would you get them to make it in the USA with solid b/s too?

So would you change anything about it if they offered you a signature version?

This sounds cool - deep body plus long scale length must add up to more bass for a small body?

Mine would be a Taylor Grand Auditorium 714 or 814 and/or my Rainsong V-DR1100N2 Vintage. The Rainsong would be stock, but the Taylor would be a "revoiced" pre-V brace model with no C or E, beveled edge on the up side of the lower bout, 12 fret and cocobolo back and sides...
