Default Sixteen Tons (acoustic cover)

Quick take of a song we went through yesterday. Old Merle Travis number, made most famous (probably) by Tennessee Ernie Ford.

I keep playing with a (much) simpler version with guitar and banjo..

Thank you for listening and the kind comment! (We can get a little busy in our playing due to the "fill" mindset we probably developed as just backup guys way back when. Nothing wrong with simple[r]!)

Really well arranged, played and sung. The whole package. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for posting.
I've also been learning a simpler version, using Merle Travis' actual method (alternating bass line with one finger to strum treble strings).

You're very welcome, and I appreciate your time and comments. (I only started doing videos because it seems people will click on a YouTube link, but not a SoundCloud one!)

The chords I use/copied are basically from a video of Merle Travis. I just can't play like that! It's a great song - wish I could snap my fingers like Tennessee Ernie Ford and play at the same time .
