OM Blank fretboard or sharks. I don't use fret markers on the fretboard, so dots are simply a waste as far as I am concerned.

Maybe blank with some sort of inlay at the 12th fret only.

Oh yeah, and if you made it a 00 instead of an OM, even better.

Hi AndyFrank:

Why do we use Sharks as inlays? .... I had posted a note about this on our Facebook page. Here is the link .... http://www.facebook.com/pages/RainSo...d=205161293177

Ashvin, I'm getting the feeling a 00 would be a good seller?

Ashvin and Ted - I'm enjoying my new S OM1100 a lot, but I think an 00 would hit a segment of the market that is ready for a smaller body!

most definitely a 00 size, shortscale or 12 fret, simple single white ring rosette(vintage style), fret markers at the 5-7-9-12 if needed(smallish micro dots).

bring it on!

I am really in agreement on the short scale in either OM or 00........and since we are staying creative N1 neck with truss rod.

For what it's worth:
OM
No electronics... nada Well, maybe an onboard tuner?
N2 neck
NO white dots

I am pretty certain RS began in Maui? And since were talking about a limited ed. for L.A. guitars, I think it should have an ocean theme but subtle. I like abalone especially on the RS's cuz let's face it, there is not exactly anything else "Natural" on the guitar... right!
I like the red abalone rosette idea but I think green paua is killer.
Maybe a subtle palm tree on the headstock (abalone) and seagull on the 12 fret and thats it.

I grew up in So. Cal and spend two days a week surfing and kiteboarding in Hawaii so that's where the tropical theme probably comes from.

A smaller guitar like the blackbird lucky 13 that is more readily available would be nice.

I agree, with the addition of a nice lightweight parlor shipped in a sexy gig bag Rainsong would cover all the bases.

BTW, looks like an OM with shark inlay will be the first LA LTD Rainsong, and just in time for summer travel season.

If it sounds WAY better than my S-OM I'm gonna be frustrated. You might have to cut me a good trade-in deal then.

As for a Rainsong 00, who needs it if there's already a Blackbird Lucky 13 (will this kind of blatant reverse psychology work on Ashvin?).

"first shipment is due late spring of 2011"

Ted - isn't that, like, now?

In all seriousness, let me know when one comes in. Very curious to hear it.
