Cool, had no idea! These are in an alpine meadow (near Alpine Meadows ski area) at 7,000 ft. It's a basin that fills with heavy snow and stays wet until August most years.

This is another from the big cat sanctuary.
This is Freddy. Freddy's a 19 year old male African lion. He's completely docile, however and, while cautious, I was eager to be in the enclosure with him. I ran about 30 frames when he got up and approached me and the keeper (whom Freddy knows well). We were both on our knees. She just kept saying to me "Be calm and don't try to get up." Freddy sniffed my camera, and then decided to sniff me. He pushed his muzzle against my jaw and breathed in hard, chuffed, spaying his saliva and whatever came out of his nose against the left side of my face. I honestly, truly thought I was about to die. I have to tell you, I've been shot at, jumped out of airplanes, driven a race car at Watkins Glen and surfed the North Shore of Oahu in winter. None of those even come close to matching the exhilaration I felt as Freddy rubbed his muzzle against my neck and, for lack of a better word, purred. This is Freddy. We buds... |

Looks like it would be a nice photo without the watermark.

The watermark does not appear on the photograph at your photobucket page with IE 7, but does so with Chrome; too, the watermark appears here at AGF in the embedded image in both IE 7 and Chrome.
Experiment: Here's the image, copied directly from your photobucket page's URL using IE 7 (where no watermark appears), and embedded here at AGF with Chrome (now, the watermark appears when viewed here at AGF in both IE 7 and Chrome): Here's the image, copied directly from your photobucket page (as viewed through IE 7) to photoshop, where I saved it as a jpg, then uploaded it to the free image hosting site Imgur. No watermark appears on the image here at AGF in either IE 7 or Chrome: By the way--Here's photobucket's official watermark policy from the page over at https://support.photobucket.com/hc/e...cket-watermark : "Photobucket hosts over 130 million images for free every day! In order to keep our basic hosting services absolutely free for all members, we overlay a “proudly hosted on Photobucket” watermark on all images that are displayed by our free members on sites other than photobucket.com. "By watermarking images, we are able to reduce our brand marketing expenses to offset our bandwidth costs. Everyone wins! "If you prefer your images to remain watermark-free, you will need to upgrade to one of our subscription plans that includes enhanced hosting services." The exact wording of photobucket's watermark policy is now different than that explained in the text--and the watermark appears when viewed at photobucket.com with Chrome--but, obviously, their watermark policy still exists.

I've had a Nikon D750 for a while and I was holding on to my old D300s as a spare for a while, but decided to sell it. Finally sold it, but I took a few last pics with it today before I ship it out.
It still takes some pretty nice pics:

Caught this interesting sculpture 'The Annunciation' by Polish sculptor Joseph Pryz on display in Durham Cathedral today.
The way the grain of the wood flows through the piece is fascinating and very striking. Also on display is this LEGO model of the cathedral. A few cathedrals here in the UK ran a scheme whereby members of the public paid £1 for a LEGO brick to go towards the building of their own cathedrall. Durham LEGO Cathedral is the largest LEGO model built by the public and measures 3.84m x 1.53m x 1.7m high and contains 300,000 bricks, donated by visitors form 182 countries. |

For the past 15 years or more, we've taken an annual family vacation in Grand Marais, on the north shore of Lake Superior. We stay at a small resort on Devil Track Lake, about 9 miles north of the town itself. The location lends itself to lovely sunsets, and thus, great photo opportunities. Here are a couple of this year's crop.
