For Sale: $sold Martin Custom D-18GE -- Premium VTS Adirondack, Sinker Mahogany, & Hide Glue

Up for sale is an incredible one-of-a-kind Martin Custom Shop instrument. This is like a Gruhn D18 Sinker Mahogany on steroids. It features a VTS (torrefied) Premium Grade Adirondack top, Sinker Mahogany, Sinker Block, Hide Glue throughout, Golden Era Bracing, Herringbone Purfling, Quarter-Sawn Sinker Mahogany, Long Saddle, 1-piece neck, Rear-Headstock HOTSTAMP, Waverly Tuners, 1 3/4” nut, 2 5/16” string spacing, and a Geib 545 case. No expense was spared on this instrument. This instrument retailed at Wildwood Guitars for $6499 in 2018.

This has been well kept but played since first purchased. There’s a small ding near where your arm rests on the lower bout near the herringbone purfling, a few some small finish impressions, some scuffing on the lower bout on the back, and some scuffing on the side where it rests on your leg. Most of this is very minor and requires reflected light to see it.

The action is set to about .090” on low E, .060” on high e, with relief set to .004”. I’m including pictures of the original listing at Wildwood as well as the build sheet I obtained from Martin.
