Favorite acoustic neck?
Of commercially available acoustic guitars, it seems most of us are interested in tone quality. But how about necks, their feel, playability, thickness??? Without regards to other aspects? For example, I have an Epiphone PR350 that sounds fair, plays okay though its nothing to jump up and down about. But, the neck on that particular guitar (a stock neck) is like gold!! Nothing is difficult to play on it.
So, of all brands and models, what is your favorite acoustic neck? |

I own a Martin OM 28 VR. It has a V shaped neck and that's become my favorite.

The neck on my Eastman E1OM is my favorite that I own... followed by my E6. I like the satin finish on the E1 better.
I like many other things better about my higher end guitars, but Eastman has nailed the neck thing as far as my preferences go.

I have this neck on my OM28V, and a Jeff Tweedy sig. Honorary mention going to the Collings neck on my C10. |

I do like my taylors, but... my SJ200 Standard has a fantastic neck.

My 1995 Taylor 810 had the best acoustic neck I’ve ever played, followed closely by my Bourgeois Slope D Banjo Killer.

Yamaha A series , though a bit narrow at the nut, are otherwise super comfy.

Two very different necks I love are a D shape 1 3/4 on a 2006 Goodall and the wide shallow 1 7/8 on a Martin 00-17 Authentic.

I have a Blueridge BR 140 CE I find the neck a little too thin. My Shubb capo actually has a little difficulty getting tight enough at the first fret.
I have a Yamaha FG375S, I find the neck a little too thick. When I build a guitar, I carve the neck to feel good to my hand. That said, I can get used to all the above. |

It's a tie between my Huss and Dalton TOM-R and my Eastman E20-OM. Both have fantastic necks. The nod probably goes to the H&D because I like the string spacing better.

I found 1.75" just a fraction too wide and 1.69" is tight but usable - the Gibson 1.72" is perfect.

Of all the guitars I've had the privilege of owning (many now gone) my favorite neck shape/size for my hands and playing style has been Santa Cruz's V with Volute and a 1 3/4" nut width that comes standard on their OM and OM/PW.
