Thanks for commenting Vognell. So far the only Hatcher I have built for is myself but, I'm always willing to try new things!

Here are the last steps before binding the guitar body. There is binding that goes onto the point of the cut away:

And the end graft needs to go in too:

Thanks for viewing!

Default Binding

Here goes the binding which is pommel figured Sapele like the back and sides. I'm putting the Blue color on the red back:

And the Red color against the top and side Blue color:

I have done this same wood with color contrast before and am more than happy to do it again!

Once again, such well-thought out color choices. It's always a pleasure to view your craft.

Thank you Kevin. This Red, White and Blue combination has been a great combination. It’s fun to work with and popular right off the bat. We’ll be seeing more of these in different models.
Thanks for commenting!

It is easy to see why with as beautiful as this is turning out. I am glad it will be at B.I.G. to show off!

I'm looking forward to showing it at your event! It will be nice to get some live impressions and feedback.

Feeding off other builds I have going I'm adding a medallion to the rosette on this guitar:

It is an Amboyna burl cabochon set on a Cocobolo diamond frame. I'll echo this with an Amboyna end pin in a Cocobolo diamond inlay

Default Setting up Neck

Moving onto the neck, it will be curly Hard Maple with an Amboyna burl center laminate:

The fretboard is figured Cocobolo bound in spalted pommele Sapele, The fret markers have silver purfling:

The fretboard end is a newer design which I think we'll be seeing more of.

In addition to this guitar I am bringing another 0000 grand auditorium guitar to the show. The other is the Bloodwood Greta I have previously been posting about in combination with all of the hand tools I have been working with. Same guitar model with a very different presentation.

Here is a picture of the fretboard I am working on for this Bloodwood guitar:

Spectacularly BEAUTIFUL instruments here!!! Be careful at B.I.G. Or they will be covered with drool in short order... perhaps make folks wear bibs for playing. Hahahah

Thanks Tom, it's coming alone very nicely. I've been working on the headstock today. I'll get some pictures up on that tomorrow.

Thanks Paul, I'm looking forward to how people react to these. Usually at one of the larger shows, people get bit overwhelmed. I'm looking forward to meeting folks at this more intimate venue!

Thanks for the comments!

Here is a picture of the headstock overlay I am getting ready for the Red, White, and Blue 0000 Greta:

It is Amboyna burl with spalted pommel figured Sapele binding and black wood purfling. The truss rod cover is Cocobolo.

Thanks Dan R.

I'm moving along getting guitars ready for the B.I.G. show. I have the neck carved for the Bloodwood grand auditorium Greta model. I have clean up work to do on the body and it will be ready for finish!

Dang you, Mark!
I have this far-away gaze and now know why La'Gioconda smiles as she does!
Mmm.
