Hi Winkyplayer. I bought mine from Sweetwater where they do a 55 point check on the guitar. I think that means they check that the hardware is tight things like that. They also offer a setup for an additional fee. I did not go for the additional setup. The Gibson did come pretty well setup. It can be tweaked a little.
I did get a Guild from Sweetwater that had the 55 point thing and that was not setup to play at all. High action, low saddle, that went back.

Congratulations on your new Gibson! The GC in my area has the G-45 in stock but I haven't went by to check it out. I've never played a guitar with a port, so I'd like to try it. Hope you enjoy it!

Having said that, congrats! The G-00 is the one of the collection that most my attention. I actually like that thy are not including electronics on the 00.
Thnx much steelvibe!

Don’t love the strap button placement. You can’t set it flat on the table etc which annoys me on my Alvarez guitars.

Yes agree, would prefer it on the underside of the neck.

My experience with Sweetwater's 55-point inspection is that it isn't worth the paper it's printed on. I recently received a Gibson L-00 Standard that passed through the 55-point inspection with a lifted bridge.

Most Gibsons I've owned or played within the last couple of years have been setup pretty well from the factory.

Oh I agree Jeremy about the 55 point, it's a bare bones inspection if anythjng at all. There is a checklist though

Anyone have any ideas where to get a tortoise guard?
If you want to do some work on pickguard, check out a blank. Take off the black one, trace around it, cut out with scissors and bevel with razor and stick on. Stu Mac sells them, and has a video on YouTube on how to do it. I got a firestripe blank for my WM45, it came out great. i also got an unbleached Gibson pre cut saddle and some nice ebony bridge pins.

Congrats on the new Gibson!

I'm dying to check these out, especially the G-200.

One question: Do they ship it with one of those rubberized "sound hole covers" for the players point? On the off chance, that in some cases, you might want to cover the port to maximize the front projection?

Seems to me that might be a good idea, even if it runs contrary to its major selling point.

Just curious - thanks.
