Default Bose l1 pro 8 or bose l1 pro 16 or other

Hi all,
i would use an array system for two reasons

- live music with 100 person, outdoor and indoor spaces
- dj music with 100 person, outdoor and indoor spaces

What do you suggest

1) use one bose l1 pro 8
2) use two bose l1 pro 8
3) use one bose l1 pro 16
4) do you suggest other array system

Thanks a lot,
Giulio

Here's the link to get full article on the difference of Bose L1 Pro 8 and the L1 Pro 16.

https://toonz.ca/bose/wiki/index.php...o8_or_L1_Pro16

Two L1 Pro8 systems or One L1 Pro16
The L1 Pro16 can project twice as far in every direction as the L1 Pro8.
Because all L1 Pro systems have 180 degree horizontal dispersion, a single system can often reach the whole audience area.
You don't need two systems as you do with other systems with narrower horizontal dispersion.

If you take two L1 Pro8 systems and separate them, you can get more coverage than one.
(More = the distance between them, side-to-side), but you don't get more projection in front of them.
You can expect the L1 Pro16 to cover twice the area of two L1 Pro8 systems and provide substantially more bass.

Reasons to choose two L1 Pro8 over a single L1 Pro16:

Two or more performers. Use two systems to split the vocal microphones
and reduce the likelihood of microphone feedback
Stereo. If you are running prerecorded music in stereo
(e.g., backing tracks), you need two systems to play stereo

Maybe you should check a DJ forum.

Acoustic guitar don’t require the same specifications as regards PA especially in terms of low end.

Also a single singer songwriter will not stress the PA the same way as DJ music which will probably involve compressed music.

Considering only live music, what do you suggest?

Thanks

I can not say.

Never tried those. You must read the real-work reviews.

Send a pm to Groberts.

I already had the S1 Pro, so I decided to try adding the Bose Sub1 and pole to make it into this system:

The L1 Pro16 or Pro32, plus add a B2 subwoofer (for additional bass when Dj'ing, but it will sound great with just the guitar and voice, too.

I have talked with a top reseller in Italy this evening.

He said me he has a lot of experience with those system and told me that only one bose l1 pro 8 is enough.

What do you think?

For solo, duo and trio musicians .. I have been using the L1 Pro 8 for both indoor and outdoor shows. I also play music from my phone via BT between sets - It is plenty loud and clear for my needs. Have never turned volume past 12 or maybe 1 o'clock.

I guess depends on how large and loud of an area you want to cover. Since the Pro 16 will project further.

I am playing venues with 40-60 people .. The Pro 8 has been great. I use a Yamaha MG10XU when adding another guitar, bass and vocals. This combo has never let me down. Had a L1 Compact before this one. Can say the Pro 8 is way more robust.

If I was playing for 100 people in larger (deeper) venues .. I'd go for the Pro16.

I use a Pro8 for acoustic shows and it is plenty loud for 100 people. A friend has a Pro16 and is always battling low-end feedback. The issue is at louder volumes you can't have it behind you as it is just too loud, so from a practical perspective you want to move it out to the side, and then it starts to make more sense to go with one on each side. Plus using 2x Pro 8s give you more flexibility for positioning etc.

Is the l1 pro more clear and loud to use with a bigger number of person?

Thanks

At the moment i am interested only to buy one system, i would know if the better choice for me will be to buy l1 pro 8 or l1 pro 16 considering the fact i will use it some times for dj or live music for 100 people.

My fear is to spend too much money buying l1 pro 16, but i have also fear l1 pro 8 will be not enough lo

What are the biggest difference considering your experience and the experience of your friend, and what do you suggest to buy?

Thanks

Thanks
