Default "That Don't Make It True" - a new original

Just finished this afternoon. First work tape . . . needs to be speeded up, and definitely needs work on the guitar pickin'.

"That Don't Make It True" - David Pennybaker

You’ll sprint down that field / Catch that overtime TD
You can taste it now / You’ll be the season MVP
You’ve got what it takes / At least you think you do
You can dream all you want / That don’t make it true

She’s the girl of your dreams / You’ll make her your wife
You’ll live happily / The rest of your lives
You’ve got what she needs / At least you think you do
You can dream all you want / That don’t make it true

Dreamin’s not enough / Neither’s wishin’ on a star
Neither one of those / Is gonna get you very far

You’re gonna get to heaven / Walk those streets of gold
You’ve done all you can / Think your sins have been atoned
You’ve got what you need / At least you think you do
You can try with all your might / That don’t make it true

Tryin’s not enough / You can’t make it on your own
You’ve got to follow Him / The path has been shown

God has a plan / He sent his only Son
To die on that cross / For you and everyone
You must believe / Ask Him to redeem you
This is His promise / That’s what makes it true

I think the picking is fine- your voice needs to be louder though - the speed is good too, IMO.

Thanks!

Just spent 7 hours in the studio yesterday, laying down scratch vocals (mine) and guitar (had the studio owner do the guitar work for me).

So, here's a better version of the song. Hopefully will have a complete 12-song CD done around the first of next year.

Much better- I could actually understand the words. Good job! And while I'm at it, let me say a couple things. 1, I wish I had written it

and 2, I've found that everything I do gets better the more I do it- I go back and listen to my videos knowing that how I do it now is better. Just food for thought.
